Westpac & DDB
Britomart Square, Auckland
Creative Direction & Production - Rawstorne Studio
DDB Group asked us to bring to life Britomart Sq, Auckland over the festive season. The brief from their client Westpac was to create an interactive ‘Christmas Tree’ experience where the public could donate to a charity using their Pay Wave system.

The concept centred around ‘your donation’ triggering a sound, light and motion reaction to the donation, the donator becomes the hero. A series of 6 mirrored 4 metre conical christmas trees formed the forest, culminating in a large 8 metre concave christmas tree whose interior was a mass of mirror and RGB bulbs. 3 UI's, set at the base of selected trees where each assigned an experience.

Once a donation was made at the UI, using the Pay Wave system, a show sequence played down using motion control, a carefully choreographed sound, light and motion experience. Immersive soundscapes were also created as ambient experiences that played down in-between donations.

The kaleidoscopic experience was mesmerising and the public reaction was overwhelmingly positive. Our team of collaborators where CP Solutions for engineering and build, Puck Murphy was AV Director and Conrad Wedde Composer.
