Advertising agency Running With Scissors, commissioned Rawstorne Studio to concept, design and produce a showcase structure and environment, that would enable their client, Hewlett Packard, to have a strong and distinctly non-rugby presence during the 6 week period of the Rugby World Cup.
The Wynard Quarter on central Aucklands stunning waterfront was our clients chosen site. Central to our concept was bringing some of the distinct and thriving New Zealand bush to the centre of the city. This resulted in a pre-fabricated tent like structure that we customised with clear panels to create a large lush greenhouse.
We engaged organic and fair trade NZ coffee brand Kokako to run a simple café. We also worked alongside leading NZ environmental companies to ensure that the café created as little waste as possible - having a ‘bank’ of worm farms and an extensive recycling system throughout the projects life.
Keeping branding to a minimum 'hp' used this peaceful 'green' space as a relaxed hub for the public to come and engage with their hardware.
